Happy new year from King Dutch! (And if you’re Russian, Merry Christmas!)
We’re feeling a little like Amazon or Pfizer over here, because while 2021 was bad for many, it was our best year yet. And 2022 is already off on the right foot. I avoided a super spreader event by staying home for Christmas, and we had a rad New Year’s Day show with new friends Ratstar at Arlene’s Grocery.
We’re pretty excited about what comes next.
At the end of January we will be releasing our first single of the year, “Black and the Red.” The drawings above are from an animated music video for the song being created by Brooklyn artist @Artforelle. Show her some love and subscribe to her YouTube channel here, or follow her on Instagram here.
A video teaser is in the works for next week. Stay tuned.
After “Black and the Red” will be two more singles and then a full album release, all within the coming months. We’ve also got some fun shows planned, including birthday parties for George Harrison and Kurt Cobain. We believe birthday parties for dead people are the best since you don’t have to buy presents.
Here’s wishing you a great 2022. Do the things you want to do. Life won’t wait.
While eagerly anticipating all of the above, enjoy this Tiny Desk concert by my favorite band from Baltimore: Turnstile. (H/t to Coach Dave for the heads up.)
