Happy Sunday from King Dutch land.
We’re going to be in the studio this afternoon with our new drummer, Aaron. Welcome, Aaron! (Stay tuned for a proper introduction in an upcoming post.) Following that we’ve got a busy couple of weeks ahead, with three upstate acoustic brewery shows and two electric appearances at the 2021 Boog City Arts Festival.
First up, the acoustic shows. Our unplugged set is something we rolled out early this year as a way to keep playing music through the pandemic. We are excited to be returning to Beacon to play Two Way Brewing on Friday, September 17th (7-9pm). On the next day, September 18th (2-5pm), we play the first of three dates at Bad Seed Cider Co. in Highland, NY.
On Friday, Sept. 24th we’ll be playing Boog City’s Classic Albums Live for the 30th anniversary of Nirvana’s Nevermind. Several performers will combine to play the entirety of the grunge masterpiece at Mama Tried, in Sunset Park. We’ve got the last three songs — “On a Plain,” “Something in the Way,” and “Endless, Nameless.”
Guitars will be destroyed.
We’ll be back at Bad Seed the next day (9/25 @ 2pm), and then on Sunday, Sept. 26th we play an original set at Freddy’s Bar in Park Slope to close out the Boog City Fest.
Last but not least, anybody who reads this may do the following: come to our gig and mention this article; the first person to do so will get receive one drink ON US, and a bitchin’ selfie with the band.
Why are we better than the Foo Fighters? The Foo Fighters don’t buy you drinks. Come get your free beer!
See you in September.
